Simple Things
Having talked to a lot of players on the range and found they concentrate too much on the complicated moves in the Golf Swing rather than the Simple Things. It is important first off to make sure the basic fundamentals are in place before we start to work on the more complex moves.
It is very difficult to build a good powerful swing unless we have the Posture spot on first. You will see below a simple routine to help get you into a good posture position.
The routine below is based on the use of an 8 iron and ball position in center of stance.
- Pick a target
- Make sure clubface is pointing square to ball to target line with feet, knees, hips and shoulders all parallel to your ball to target line Imagine a set of railway tracks
- Place feet together, stand up straight with butt of club pointing to belly button and club parallel to ground
- Making sure you maintain the distance between belly button and club, bend from the hips down to the ball sticking your bum out at the same time
- Take an even step each side and flex the knees making sure of cushioning the weight in the centers of the feet
- Now move to the ball maintaining the position you just created DO NOT find the ball with your arms
What you have now is a good posture position.
Good Luck
